Arrival in Base Camp 09/09/13
A superb breakfast of porridge and eggy bread saw us on the trail to base camp just after 8:00am and after a steep ascent for the next 4 – 5 hours we all arrived in fair fettle apart from a headache here and there.
Shortly after arriving the forecast rain/sleet made an appearance for an hour or two whilst we sorted out equipment and personal tents. This will be the way for the next ten days or two; sun in the morning and rain in the afternoon.
Manaslu base camp
The Sherpa’s (who arrived in baseamp on Sat) had set up the kitchen, dining, stores and toilet/shower tent for us as well as placing personal tents.
A welcome evening meal of dalbat (lentil sauce), chips, salad, tomato soup, rice and broccoli preceded with a tiger balm hot-towel was very well received.

There will be lots of sorting out equipment over the next few days before we start to move higher on the mountain. Please feel free to comment on the our blogs and ask any questions that you may have. We’ll try our best to answer.
Hey guys so pleased to see you've all reached base camp safely, youre' all looking similar in appearence now with all that facial hair , Is that really ben hugo with that moustashe he gets more like his dad every day Ha Ha !! looks like you've not got any razors with you then.
